An announcement from Generation Spirit:
To our friends, supporters, and inclusion advocates everywhere:
After fifteen remarkable and rewarding years of promoting inclusion in schools nationwide, our team has decided to bring Generation Spirit’s activities to a close.
When we began this work in 2009, inclusive and adaptive high school extracurriculars weren’t just rare, they were virtually unheard of. We’re encouraged by the tremendous growth and progress we’ve seen in schools nationwide, as schools continue to embrace inclusion as a best practice. We have faith that – with support from passionate students, parents, and educators – school-based inclusive programs will continue to thrive.
In an effort to foster accessibility, all of Generation Spirit’s proven resources will remain free and available to the public. Whether you’re interested in starting an inclusive spirit team, strengthening your current team, or simply learning more about the GenS approach to inclusion, you can access our full online resource library here. As of April 1, 2024, our on-site training and uniform grant programs will no longer be available.
Our team will remain available to answer any questions to new and current teams through the end of April. Please send all inquiries to info@generationspirit.org.
Thank you for your support throughout this incredible journey. Because of your commitment to Generation Spirit, tens of thousands of students have experienced meaningful inclusion, genuine friendship, and the joy of being a spirit leader.
With gratitude,
The GenS Team
